Dear Parents and students:

Wow! It is time for all my students to show off what they have learned about Math Calendar in the class.  You are welcome to film your student in class when your student is in charge of being Math Calendar teacher.
This week, we will have Math benchmark 3 test on Friday.  There is no Chinese test, Math journal and Chinese writing homework.  To help your students success, I sent a Math homework package last Friday.  I also assigned some Unit 6 review and homework on Math expression website, please help your students be prepared and ready for the test.  The link is: https://www-k6.thinkcentral.com/ePC/start.do.  The user name and password are same as student's number.
This week, we are going to learn Better Chinese lesson 15 "Her eyes are very big." In Math, we will continue to learn graphing, recording the data and length.   For social study & science, we will learn exploring changes in my neighborhood.
While listening to your students' Lingt recording, I have noticed that some of the students didn't wait to listen to me 3-5 times before recording their voice. I also have noticed that some of the students didn't do 5-6 sentences per day, instead they piled up 10-20 sentences finishing in 1-2 days.  For best learning outcome, please encourage your students to follow my advise: Listening to me 3-5 times before recording, take 5-7 minutes per day to do 5-7 listening & speaking sentences.  Thank you for all your support.

Dear Parents and students:

We have a wonderful grandparents program.  It is a great pleasure to see you and to know your students' grandparents.  Thank you for coming support the program.  This week, I won't have any center.  We will continue learn lesson 14 in Better Chinese and community helpers in social study.  In math, we will learn graphing.

Week 4/2-4/5

Dear Parents & Students:

Welcome back! It is Spring time, I hope that you have a lot fun during the Spring break and off track.  This Friday will be grandparent's day.  During the week, we will have a lot of practices.  Also, we are going to learn 7 habits.  The first habit will be "Be proactive".  In Chinese, we will learn  Better Chinese Lesson 14 "What does he wear today?" .  Math: we will continue learn topic 11 subtracting with ones and tens.  For social/science study, we will learn "helpers in my neighborhood".
Thursday quiz:
Last Friday before off track, we didn't have time to do it.  We will have it this Thursday.  The quiz is lesson 12, please check previous post for the information.
 Home work:
Speaking & Listening: week 17 and lesson 13 (If you finish week 17, please do the lesson 13.  If you haven't done it, please finish the week 17.)
Reading book: No reading book, please go to my blog at homework page and read the reading 8 (5 minutes per day).  If you haven't turned in the reading books, please turn them in tomorrow. 
Writing book: lesson 12
Math Journal:  This week,  I would like students make up three favorite two digit numbers subtraction stories and use drawing and equation to solve the problem. (see below example)
For example: Yesterday, Mom brought 45 grapes, I ate 15 grapes.  How many grapes Mom has today?

Dear Parents and students:
Last week, Parent Teacher Conference went so well.  I'm so proud of your students as well as so proud of the efforts that you have put in to support your students' learning.  Time past so fast, it is off track time again after this Friday.  I have noticed that students lost a quite bit of their language during the last break.  Therefore, I strongly recommend  all of you to keep your students' Chinese learning half hours daily during the break.  This week, we will learn about "She likes red color." in Better Chinese lesson 13.  Math, we will learn review place value and add tens and subtract tens.  Social study, we will learn about rock and soil.
